What is a real estate auction?

It is a simplified method of buying/selling real estate that uses an auctioneer as the primary sales agent.

Do I have to register of the day of the sale?

Yes, you must register on the sale day with the clerk, who will give you a number you can use for bidding.  For land auctions, additional information will be asked for, such as a Driver's License Number.

What if I'm the winner of the land auction?

There will be a specified amount of earnest money to be paid immediately following the auction.  Your bid is considered acceptance of the terms of the auction you participated in.  If you fail to close, as the buyer, your earnest money or other deposit is non-refundable.  If the seller fails to close, the buyer will be refunded 100% of their deposit/earnest money.
